Biography

Welder, aka Brendan Angelides is a San Francisco based musician and live performer. As Welder, his first release in 2006 was the full length "Vines & Stream" which was released on the SF based label "Cyberset". It received rave reviews from various indie online mags and publications. 2007 saw the release of his first EP on Bluetech's imprint "Native State". In 2008, the acclaimed video for the single "Purple and Orange" (directed and edited by Scott Pagano of Neither Field), was met with a great response from fans and newcomers alike. Pagano's previous work includes videos for BT, Funkstorung, SpeedyJ and Richard Devine among others.

Brendan's works have been featured in URB, DJ Mag, Knowledge Mag and on such shows as BBC Radio1, Rinse FM and Breaks FM. He has performed in London, Bristol, Scotland, Spain, France, into parts of Canada and in numerous major cities across the US.

The "Chalice Well" Ep represents the first release on his own imprint entitled "Ancestor". It represents a growth of organic sound design and dynamic melody that he has come to be known for. It crosses emotional terrains while working on blending organic and synthetic environments. It helping to achieve this, each track incorporates the use of homemade field recordings that originate from Glastonbury England, northern California, and the Northeast United States respectively. "Chalice Well" helps to pave the way for releases to come in terms of vibe but also in terms of artistic visions and recording methods.
